Update-ish

youngerpetrelliFor those not on Twitter, a quick update. My Mum is in the hospital after a silent heart attack a few days ago. They brought her to the hospital because of shortness of breath, and after running tests discovered this. She's DNR/DNI, so the breathing has been handled only by meds and BiPAP (forced oxygen mask, basically), and she's gradually improving. She's 86 years old, smoked for many years prior to the age of about 47, and has diabetes, so there are a number of issues that contributed to/complicated this.
She's also up in NY and I'm here in MD.
So I'm a little scattered and a little stressed from time to time, and trying to tag and write as I get the urge/time to do so. I'm sleeping a lot 'cause her doc calls at like 6:40 in the morning to give me an update, and that's 1:30 before I have to wake up, so I'm getting some really crappy sleep...
And the work stress hasn't let up, because along with the normal workload I'm now on TWO techie workgroups as we're trying to transition to new personnel systems, and NO ONE else in the office is capable of figuring out all the pitfalls and problems and what we need done, so it falls to me to remind the contractors 'yeah, we really need it to do THIS. No, really.'
SO, if I'm absent or frazzled, I hope you understand. Sometimes I'm just not up for really emotional stuff, and sometimes I'm just not awake enough to be funny. Poke me if you need me to tag somewhere, and I'll try to get to it. I'm here, but sometimes I'd rather just be staring at the TV, y'know? *HUGS*
